Two Favorite Photos of Paris

Montmartre by night, December 2008

Eiffel Tower is Blue taken from Montmartre, December 2008

Two of my favorite photographs in Paris. I like the image of Montmartre at an angle. Took this as I was walking down the hillside. I love the people standing and looking out over Paris by night with the cobblestones at their feet and a light from a single street lamp. The Eiffel Tower is blue during the Christmas Season. The blue is so deep as to appear almost purple.

Egrets, Roseate Spoonbills, Glossy Ibis

Along the Texas coast there is yet another wildlife sanctuary that is full all winter with migrating birds and some birds that live here year around. The pink ones flying off are the Roseate Spoonbills. They are tucked in with the Egrets and Glossy Ibises. I hope we get to drive through there next week. I'm afraid it suffered greatly during the last hurricane (August 2008) that came in near Beaumont. We were through the area in October, but were not able to visit the Anahuac Refuge.

West Texas - Near the Pecos River

Pecos River

Another one of those photo opportunities was this old stone house in Langtry, TX. The Pecos River runs through the area. This is the part of Texas where Judge Roy Bean presided and he was "The Law West of the Pecos". The music hall built there was named after the Jersey actress, Lillie Langtry. There is a Judge Roy Bean Visitor Center on a hill overlooking the land in Val Verde County, Texas.

These photographs were taken in March 2004 when the G-man & I were on our first holiday together. We first went to the Texas valley area and then drove westward with our final destination being the Big Bend National Park. We had a great time stopping at various sights along the way and found we were very compatible travelers.

Yet Another Cool Door

Another favorite door(somewhere in Florida).

Sidewalk Cafes

Sidewalk cafes are a favorite of mine. They are so enticing. It doesn't seem to matter to me if it is warm or cold, I love to sit outside. Of course outdoor fans or heaters are needed under extreme conditions, but just watching people come & go, seeing the birds flitting around, and looking at beautiful surroundings whether they be natural or man-made is deliciously enjoyable.
